Arsenal full-back Kieran Gibbs is set to leave Arsenal in the summer with Arsene Wenger keen to listen to offers.

It is believed that Newcastle is one of those teams and probably it will all depend on whether the Magpies can keep their Premier League place.

Gibbs has lost his place to Nacho Monreal and has found it difficult to get playing time this season. Hindered by injuries, he has not fully recovered and as such find himself down the pecking order. Nacho Monreal has been really consistent this season, and it is hard to find Kieran Gibbs reclaiming the first-choice position at left-back. With Monreal reaching his 30th birthday, Arsenal will be interested to find a younger player that they can groom for the future.

Consequently, Arsene Wenger will be keen to find a replacement for the England defender and may have found the rare gem in RaphaëlGuerreiro. Guerreiro is a Portuguese international and currently plays for the French side Lorient. It will all depend on whether Gibbs will leave Arsenal in the summer or not.

Kieran Gibbs has been with Arsenal since the 2007-2008 where he signed his first professional contract with the Gunners. He featured at the time in Arsenal’s League Cup games, a competition which Arsene Wenger was using to groom his young players. It is only in 2008 that he made his Premier League debut with Arsenal and from then on featured regularly as a substitute.

His breakthrough season came in 2011-2012 when Gael Clichy signed for Manchester City. Kieran Gibbs became the first-choice left back and managed to make some impressive performance for the Gunners. He scored his first Arsenal goal in a match against Aston Villa, which the Gunners won 3-0.

He has managed to make 208 appearances so far for the London team and scoring six goals in the process.
