West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has stressed that he will not walk-away from the Baggies job, irrespective of their recent run of results. The former Crystal Palace boss has managed to guide the club to just one victory since his arrival in November, and this sees the club seven points adrift of safety with 10 games remaining.

Speaking ahead of the Watford game, Pardew hinted that he could stay on with the Baggies irrespective of their potential relegation to the Championship, he said:“If you think I’m going to walk away, with my experience, with a team that isn’t functioning well, then you’re wrong.” Meanwhile, the 56-year-old was not pleased with the media leaking information about a bust-up between him and Chris Brunt.

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has insisted Daniel Sturridge has suffered only a minor injury setback during Monday’s 3-0 Premier League defeat at the hands of Chelsea. The England international has been keen to impress against his former employers at Stamford Bridge, but his appearance was short lived after he was substituted after just four minutes with a tight hamstring.

Shortly after the game, Pardew appeared to dismiss the thought of a serious injury to Sturridge, and he is hoping to have the striker back on the playing field in a fortnight’s time, he said: “We need him up and running as it’s goals we’ve struggled with. He felt his hamstring after a 60m sprint in the first moments of the game.

“We’ll have to nurse him. He won’t play next week but hopefully the week after. There have been so many drawn games we should have won, and losing Daniel Sturridge after three minutes was a blow in itself. If we can get two or three wins in our next group of games we can put pressure on the other teams.”

Goals have been a major concern for the Baggies over the course of the season, and they now find themselves with a distinct possibility of dropping down to the Championship with a seven-point gap between them and 17th-placed Huddersfield Town.

Despite the setback, Pardew was pleased to have the likes of Kieran Gibbs and Jonny Evans back in the mix after suffering injuries during the FA Cup win over Liverpool last month, and the next couple of weeks could decide their fate with games against Watford, Huddersfield Town, and Bournemouth coming up.

With Sturridge injured, Pardew will once again have to rely on the services of Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez in the frontline, though the former could yet to receive a ban for an alleged use of racist language towards Brighton & Hove Albion defender Gaetan Bong in January.

West Ham Albion have recently been experiencing a significant change after the head coach of the club, Tony Pulis was sacked on November 20 and Albion are still struggling trying to escape the bottom spots of the English Premier League.

A few weeks ago, Kieran Gibbs took some time to talk about the situation of Tony Pulis back when the Welsh manager was still in charge of West Ham Albion and the English defender announced that Tony Pulis at that point in time, still had support from the players as well as the fans of the club. West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis is convinced that the Baggies sealed a bargain by recruiting Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal.

The north London giants were forced to cut down their £15m asking price in the dying stages of the transfer window due to the reduced competition for the left-back.

Arsenal had rejected a bid of around £10m from the Baggies earlier on in the transfer window, but they eventually had to settle for half of that sum as the market dried up. Gibbs had initially agreed to join Watford in a deal £5m plus £2m in add-ons, but the Baggies were quick to pounce with a similar offer for his services.

Speaking to reporters, he said: “I just thought Gibbs was too expensive. The £12m that Arsenal were talking about at the beginning of the season was too expensive. To get him for £5m over a period of time now is a good deal for us. We’ve got to get him fit. I think he has struggled with injuries over a period and that’s been a big factor at times in his career.” (more…)

Watford appeared to be edging closer towards signing Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs, according to latest transfer rumours.

The two clubs have reportedly agreed a £ 5 million deal for the England international, who has failed to get regular first-team football in the Arsenal setup. Gibbs was seen as the natural replacement for Ashley Cole wants Gael Clichy left the club, but it appears that manager Arsene Wenger is ready to let the player leave in search of regular first-team football. Gibbs has not featured for Arsenal this season as the gunners have largely resorted to using Nacho Monreal in this position.

Arsenal will be receiving around £ 5 million for the defender, who came through the ranks at Arsenal after joining the club as a youngster from Wimbledon in 2004. He has largely represented Arsenal throughout his career after only making seven appearances for Norwich City in his only loan spell away from the gunners. The lack of regular first-team appearances mean that Gibbs has not been featuring regularly for the England national team. Since making his debut in 2010, he has only featured in 10 games for the national team. (more…)

Kieran Gibbs made 11 appearances for Arsenal during the 2016-17 Premier League season.

His career in the English club has been a forgettable one as the English defender never truly managed to make an impact at the Emirates Stadium despite being a player of Arsenal since the season of 2006-07.

For the majority of Kieran Gibbs´ playing career as an Arsenal player, he has mostly had to settle with a spot on the sidelines.

On June 6 of 2017, Arsenal completed their 1st summer signing of 2017 by securing the services of the 20 year old Bosnian left-back SeadKolasinac and this is bad news for Kieran Gibbs as his influence at the Emirates Stadium will probably be diminished further than it already is.

It´s rumored that Newcastle United, Stoke City and Watford are all interested in signing Kieran Gibbs but the problem that they have faced is the price tag of the 27 year old defender who has been on the sidelines for most of his career. (more…)

Arsenal full-back Kieran Gibbs could get a fresh challenge to revive his Premier League with both West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United keen on his signature.

The England international earned just eight starts during the recently concluded league campaign with Nacho Monreal being the preferred option on the left side of the backline.

Arsene Wenger did opt for a change to the 3-4-2-1 formation later on in the season, but this still didn’t help Gibbs as his continuous injury problems led to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain filling up at left wing-back in the FA Cup final against Chelsea. According to The Mirror, the Gunners graduate could earn a new lease of life in England with Tony Pulis keen on luring the full-back to the Hawthorns.

Pulis failed to clinch a deal with Leicester City for Jeffrey Schlupp last winter after the Ghanaian opted to pursue a move to Crystal Palace, and the manager is now on the search for an experienced option, who could replace Allan Nyom for the left-back position. (more…)
